I used to
be a real fan of the ABC and a devoted Labor voter. Nowadays, I'm dismayed by a
lot of what I see and hear on the ABC and intend to vote for anybody but Labor.
One the
most divisive issues concerning Australians is the polarizing problem of refugee
policy. Apparently Australians should be ashamed of the way refugees are
harshly treated but the most important element of the problem is not even
discussed. It is purposefully avoided. Especially by the ABC, which claims to
be the most trusted source of news.
The refugee
issue cannot be discussed in any meaningful way unless we differentiate between
Muslim and non-Muslim refugees. Australia is a country of immigrants. Australia
has been welcoming refugees from all over the world for generations. We are the
most cosmopolitan country on Earth, without any 'racial' problems, ever, until Islam
raised its ugly head.
On 4
Corners last year the entire programme was devoted to giving the impression
that a Buddhist family from Cambodia which had typical been very successful in
every way was equivalent to Muslim refugees. It was completely dishonest. Most
immigrants quickly, within a couple of generations, become just more Australian
citizens, but Muslims, because they consider themselves spiritually superior to
the infidels, have no interest in integrating into the Australian community. To
the contrary, they want Australia to become an islamic state and everybody to
be subject to sharia law. They do not integrate into Australian society just
like they don't integrate into any other western society.
So, to
speak of refugees as if they are all the same is quite disingenuous.
Unfortunately, I've come to believe that the ABC knows that but does what it
does on purpose, as a part of their political agenda to undermine our free
society. To quell criticism they accuse
anybody who isn't blindly pro-refugee of being 'racist' even though, as I do, most Australians would like to see more non-Muslim refugees welcomed into our country but all Muslim
refugees directed to Muslim countries where they will be able to integrate.
